Todays post is a little different as I am so grateful to have been invited to join a blog tour by a friend and colleague Susan C. Foster www.susancfoster.com. This blog is all about “why I write” and answering,
“Why I Write” and how it has shaped my own journey.
Growing up in a Christian home I was taught very early on that God instilled within us talents and spiritual gifts and just we are all unique, so are our talents. I have met people throughout life that I know were far more talented and creative then I am and whether they choose to ignore them or just fail to see they have those gifts, they are not using them. What is a bit ironic in each of those people are they are fairly miserable in the work they are doing. Let me clarify something here, I am not saying that if they were to start using their gifts and talents that their lives will be so much better, however I do believe that it is a huge possibility.
So, why do I write? I write out of obedience to God. I realize that some of you reading that word are probably cringing because you realize suddenly that you are not walking in obedience to God’s Word, whether it is not using your talents or just living in sin. I have good news for you; today is a new day and you have an opportunity to change that.
When God instilled those talents within you He expected you to use them and I believe if we don’t we are not being obedient. I did not realize I had the gift of writing until a just a few years ago and I wish I had known this long before. I realize my writing is not for everyone and that is ok, however the ones that it is for I feel that God will use it to change their lives and move them to live beyond their limits. I write from my heart to share what God is teaching me in my own life.
I want to introduce you to three bloggers that I follow. I hope you enjoy reading their blogs as much as I do.
