Bah humble, it is Christmas Eve and I feel like the closer we get to Christmas the crazier people get. The news media shared that traffic and the stores would be very busy over the next few days which will cause many frustrations for a lot of people. Tempers will flair, words will be exchanged and for a lot of people the whole meaning of Christmas is completely forgotten.
This blog is not about what you might think, it’s not about Christmas, it’s not even about serving others and being grateful for the things you have….
This blog is about being humble. I know that we find the trait of being humble attractive and we love when someone does something great for others or gives a gift and they choose to receive nothing in return, including words of affirmation. That is fine and all, but what I have found is that too many people hold themselves back from doing great things and being great because they choose to be humble.
Now before you go getting a little uptight, let me say this, there is a difference between being cocky and not being humble. God has gifted each and every one of us in different ways and I believe that with those gifts comes a great responsibility. The responsibility is that our gifts are actually intended to make the world a much better place. I do agree that being humble is a good thing but when you hold yourself back from your greatness because you choose to be humble you are not living at your highest potential.
You know the things that you do well and you know the areas where you are the most gifted, own your talents, stop wasting them….Use them or lose them! Please take a minute and comment below what areas of your life you are choosing to be humble rather than great! You can either be humble or you can be great and shine!
